Implementation Consultant

Lakeland Industries, Inc

Decatur, AL

Developed ETLs to convert existing ERP data by consolidating SKUs resulting in an optimized set of styles with one SKU for all sizes and a weighted average cost based on sales data. This resulted in a 70% reduction in SKUs for the new ERP system. Performed requirements analysis, data gathering and project management in addition to being the technical liaison between Lakeland Industries and the ERP vendor. Developed a Sales Quote application to assist the sales department in creating customer quotes for custom fire turnout suits. It was estimated that this application saved the company approximately 2000 man-hours per year and improved their quote consistency and accuracy many times over.

Managed technical services staff for desktop support and Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains Accounting. Managed development projects for iOS devices to track activity in the field for sales and safety auditing. The Sales app improved sales efficiency over 50% by avoiding overlap sales visits to prospective customers and enabled upper management to keep informed of sales activities in real-time. The Safety Auditing app tracked safety issues in the field to track and improve the Noble Casings safety rating. This app was a key tool for the entire safety department and upper management. Managed Network Security, Databases, Backups, Disaster Recovery, Asset Tracking, IT Policies, Corporate IT Objectives and Web Sites for three locations.

Blue Ridge Software specialized in custom, data-driven software, dynamic and eCommerce websites. Managed many development projects through all aspects of the project lifecycle.

Key Projects Managed

  • Insurance Subrogation web application to track work flow of subrogation processes. Developed in, MS SQL Server, Web Services in C#
  • Custom eCommerce Site for All Power Seminars, a motivational coaching group. This site also managed a very custom payout structure for commissions to paying members and was completed with a very robust back-end to administrate the site. This project was developed with ASP.NET, MS SQL Server and C# Web services.
  • Implementation upgrade from KMA to MPX. KMA and MPX are donor management systems. This client had over 30 ancillary applications that were custom developed. We performed needs analysis on all systems and migrated the data to the new MPX system.
  • Managed migration on a high volume eCommerce website for 3ABN, a global multimedia TV and Radio network. The website receives over 1 million hits per month.
  • Website for the flood victims in middle Tennessee, May 2010. Our efforts raised over $100,000 dollars to help families in need.

Key Projects Managed

  • Managed a group of 8 to 10 senior developers, performing maintenance and enhancements on the easyLENDER product. Maintained project plans, weekly status and milestone reports for 3 to 4 production releases per year averaging 200 enhancements and bug fixes per release.
  • Developed Functional Specifications in conjunction with the Product Management group. Once approved the Functional Specifications were converted to Technical Specifications for my teams’ development efforts.
  • Designed and developed an add-on application that sent customers mortgage closing packages out for signatures. This enhancement resulted in an estimated cost savings of up to $80,000 per year for our clients.
  • Implemented software development standards and peer code reviews to improve coding standards for the department.
  • Designed a defect tracking management system that tracked all bugs and enhancements from inception through development, QA, Product Management to Release Management. This application also worked in conjunction with the source code repository to lock files being changed until they were released by QA. This system was crucial to the success of the development lifecycle and saved countless hours within the entire department.

Lead developer of several graphical banking applications that provided client-server access to data on a mainframe. Banking applications included Desktop Budgeting, Financial Control System, Deposits, Time Investment, Customer Information, and Account Analysis. Participated in several JAD sessions with user groups and clients, and was the key technical contributor on all client-server development. Developed and maintained an Enterprise Wide Decision Support System to query and graph data from mainframe based applications.
